Event Description:
Have you ever wondered, "How does volunteering make a difference?" or "I want to volunteer, but I'm not sure where?" This is the event for you!
YPC & YNPN are proud to sponsor Causes & Connections to pair greater Des Moines young professionals with non-profit organizations that are actively seeking volunteers and support. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with a diverse selection of organizations on ways to get involved. Participants can also listen to a short presentation on the value of volunteerism and actionable tips for weaving community give back into your everyday life. Come find a volunteer opportunity that matches your interests, schedule, and abilities! Food will be provided.

Event Structure:
- 5:00 PM Registration Open
- 5:30 PM Welcome & "The Power of Volunteerism"
- 5:45 PM Non-Profit Speed Dating
- You and a small table of other YPs will spend 7-8 min with a non-profit, learning about their mission and volunteer needs. When the timer dings, the non-profit representatives will switch, and you'll meet another!
- 7:00 PM Open Networking
- Take the time to connect with the non-profits you may not have met with in Speed Dating, ask questions, and meet other young professionals! Enjoy Smash Park's multitude of games such as Connect4, Giant Jenga, and Cornhole as well.
- 8:00 PM Event Conclusion
