Diversity & Culture - Liz Lidgett Gallery + Design

Come join YPC for a conversation with Liz Lidgett at Liz Lidgett Gallery + Design in the East Village on Wednesday, September 4 from 6 pm to 7 pm. Liz will speak about her career as an art consultant, gallerist, and curator in Des Moines and how she has seen her career, herself, and Des Moines change over time in its support of art. Ten years ago, Liz moved back to Des Moines from Los Angeles, where she then became a YPC member (including becoming a past YP of the Year recipient). Based upon her experiences, she'll relay what she wished knew then that she knows now. She will also walk attendees through her gallery to give a brief art history class and describe what she considers when curating her collection.

Liz Lidgett Gallery + Design helps individual clients, corporations, businesses, and communities transfer their vision for their physical space into a reality through well chosen artwork. Liz has also been involved in the transformation of Des Moines through public art and murals. If you think about any of the most visible street art in Des Moines, like the mural wall outside RoCA on Court Ave or the "My Heart Belongs to Des Moines" mural alongside The Parker @ Seventh apartment building, it is likely that Liz had a hand in it. Liz is also a nationally recognized art expert, consultant, and stylist with features in Better Homes & Gardens, MarthaStewart.com, and Reese Witherspoon's website Hello Sunshine.
