Event Description:


In an effort to keep downtown Des Moines a vibrant place to live and work, EMC and the City of Des Moines have partnered together to bring a new “pocket park” to our community. Constructed on the former site of the Younkers Brothers Department Store, which burnt down in 2014, this new amenity will include several recreational features, checkers and chess tables, and a soft play structure for climbing.

Join YPC and members of the design/construction team as we explore the park’s design and celebrate its impact on our community. After a chance for networking, the design/construction team will present on the various design iterations, final design, and discuss how it fits into and enhances the downtown ecosystem. We will end the night with a behind the scenes look at the site. Food and drinks will be provided.
