Event Description:
Part 9 of the Financial Literacy Series: Small Business Valuation and Exit Strategies
How do participants on the popular Shark Tank TV show determine how much their company is worth? What are the "Sharks" really asking with their questions about cash flow and valuation? What are the differences in valuation of early-stage companies (i.e. start-up companies and pre-sales) versus profitable/stable companies? Mett Fett and Kyle Larson will lead a workshop on the determinants of business valuation and merger/acquisition strategies (i.e. selling shares to the "Sharks").

In his current role, he performs appraisals for a variety of purposes including: ESOPs, mergers/acquisitions, estate taxes, buy/sell agreements, intra-family transfers/gifting, charitable donations, management decision-making, financial reporting, and limited partnerships. Fett is a Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) and an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA).

Kyle Larson is a Transaction Adviser in the mergers and acquisitions practice of BCC Advisers in Des Moines. He assists mid-market clients in identifying and accomplishing their business transfer goals.
