Iowa Startup Community Showcase
The event, sponsored by Hatchlings, will feature tech founder, author, and current Ecosystem Development lead at Techstars Iowa, Ben McDougal. Ben will speak about his experiences as a tech founder and give us his insights on how we can look to fuel positive change in the community. The goal of the event is to share a welcoming overview of the DSM/Iowa startup community and the broader entrepreneurial ecosystem, highlight programs like Techstars and 1 Million Cups, and in general, encourage YPC members and nonmembers to continue making a ruckus as they fuel positive change. Ben will also be speaking about his newly published book, "You Don’t Need This Book: Entrepreneurship in the Connected Era", that speaks to his experience in building multiple successful startup companies and gives insights into his processes. The book is geared to help energize students, first-time founders, experienced entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs, and community builders to start a new business, improve an existing company, or evolve an entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The first 25 people to sign-up will receive a free copy of Ben's new book.
We will also hear from Diana Wright of the Greater Des Moines Partnership who will speak to how the partnership works to support our local start up community.
