Event Description:
Every election matters, and the upcoming 2021 election is right around the corner. Time to learn the ballot!
Join the event where you will get to gain knowledge what's up for your consideration and go in depth on one of many items on the ballot. Attendees will get to hear directly from the Polk County Water & Land Legacy campaign manager, Luke Hoffman. Hoffman will share information on a bond on the ballot which, if passed, allocates funds for a number of projects that protect sources of clean drinking water, prevent flooding, and save wildlife habitats for future generations.
Luke Hoffman is the Campaign Manager for Polk County’s Water & Land Legacy, and also the Executive Director of Iowa Rivers Revival a small statewide nonprofit dedicated to protecting and restoring Iowa's Rivers. Luke has an MPA with an emphasis in Public Policy from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Luke loves the outdoors and grew up in small-towns across Iowa including Emmetsburg, Fredonia, and Thurman Iowa. Luke now lives in downtown Des Moines near Grays Lake and has participated in RAGBRAI for the past four years, and is a member of the Tall Dog Bike Club.
