Young Professionals Connection (YPC) is excited to host Suku Radia, former CEO of Bankers Trust, for our April Lunch 'n Learn on April 19. He will speak about attributes of leadership growth throughout one's career and the importance of community leaders giving back.
Suku Radia served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bankers Trust, Iowa's largest independent community bank, from 2008 - 2017 (retired in December 2017).
Under his leadership, the earnings of the bank increased from $11 Million to $47 Million. Prior to joining Bankers Trust, Radia served as
Chief Financial Officer of Meredith Corporation from 2000 - 2008 and Managing Partner of KPMG in Des Moines from 1993 - 2000. Radia moved to Iowa from Uganda to attend Iowa State University to pursue a degree in accounting and became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in 1975 while working for KPMG. Radia has received numerous awards and distinctions within the Des Moines community for his community service and leadership roles on non-profit boards and university committees. He has been named Best Metro Leader (2012 - 2017), Best Minority Business Leader (2012 - 2017), and Most Influential Business Leader (2012 - 2017).
