We all experience stress...in the workplace, at home, and with our family/friends. The "Leverage Your Stress with Emotional Intelligence" workshop, presented by Dr. Warren Phillips, will provide you a unique approach to understanding and handling work and life stress based on recent research from behavioral and health psychology. We will address the impact of stress at work and in our daily life, and you will have the opportunity to learn and use three sets of powerful emotionally intelligent coping skills including skills for self-awareness, self-management, and self-direction, Using multiple teaching styles including didactic presentation, small group discussion, and hands-on experiential exercises, you will have the opportunity to:
Professional Bio of Dr. Warren Phillips, Ph.D.
Warren Phillips, Ph.D. is a Clinical Psychologist with more than 25 years of experience working with human behavior, relationships, and leadership in multiple contexts. He is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Psychology at Iowa State University, a full member of the American Psychological Association, and the President of the Iowa Psychological Association. He and his business partners, Warren Jacobs, LMFT (Vice President of TWS) and Kimberly Phillips (Chief Operating Officer), run Transformative Workplace Solutions (TWS), based in Central Iowa.

- Explore your typical feelings and ways of coping with stress
- Practice methods of mindfully pausing in the face of stress
- Identify important values that can be used as a compass point to navigate stressful situations
