Are you my mentor?
In nearly every professional development discussion, the question “Who is your mentor?” is inevitably asked. That question (and often assumptions about ideal mentorship) conjures up an image of a personal Yoda who was placed in your life by the universe. This interactive workshop, led by Amy Jennings (Executive Director of the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute), will help you define and plan for what an ideal mentor relationship is for you – Yoda not required.
After the workshop, join Young Professionals Connection (YPC) and the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute Alumni for a networking happy hour at Hello, Marjorie.
About the Speaker: Amy Jennings
Amy Jennings is the Executive Director of the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute.
Through her role, and by partnering with hundreds of passionate volunteers, she helps program participants, alumni, and community members to see themselves as partners for community change. Jennings was the inaugural recipient of the Young Professionals Connection's Young Professional of the Year Award; she was a Des Moines Business Record Forty Under 40 honoree, and she received the Association of Leadership Programs' Preceptor Award. Jennings is an alumnus of Leadership Iowa, as well as the organization she has led for the past seven years, the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute.
About the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute
The Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute develops, connects, inspires, and challenges community champions through life-changing leadership experiences. Since 1982, more than 2,500 community stewards have graduated from Leadership Institute programs.
