Volunteer: Ice Cream Social with Orchard Place

Help YPC throw the best back-to-school ice cream social the kids of Orchard Place have ever seen! As a volunteer, you will help serve ice cream and organize games of volleyball, basketball, or badminton with the kids, aged 4th-12th grade. Not athletic? They are very competitive in board games as well! 

Agenda:

• 2:30 PM Tour of Orchard Place + learn about the great work they do
• 3:00-5:00 Back-to-School Ice Cream Social 

In total, 70 kids will attend the Back-to-School Ice Cream Social, coming in groups of 20-30 at a time for 45 minutes.  

Orchard Place is the oldest locally-based charity in Des Moines. They provide mental health treatment and expertise for Iowa's kids.  In the past year, Orchard Place served more than 7,500 children and adolescents through our inpatient, outpatient and community-based programs. The age range they serve varies by program and spans from birth through 21 years old. With the help of professional staff, volunteers, individual and corporate donors, Orchard Place provides a cornerstone of mental health services for children including residential, outpatient, in-home, community-based and care coordination programs.
