Event Description:

Come join YPC and the Des Moines Metro Opera (DMMO), Simpson College Alumni Office, and Indianola Young Profesionals on Tuesday, June 25 from 7 pm to 8:30 pm at the Blank Performing Arts Center in Indianola on the campus of Simpson College. Attendees get to enjoy a night of complimentary appetizers and drinks, and networking with young professionals across many facets of the Des Moines Metro while enjoying a free preview of the nationally recognized DMMO's production of Puccini's opera La boheme.

Opera
If you feel unsure about attending an opera, don't worry! The DMMO will bring you up to speed before the performance with a preview presentation of the opera and what you might expect. Puccini's La boheme is a classic Italian opera for a reason and is one of the most frequently performed operas worldwide. This "greatest love story ever sung" tells the story of "the bohemian revolution in the heart of Paris as a group of struggling artists strives to create beautiful art, find love and ultimately live life to the fullest." The movie and musical Rent are loose interpretations of Puccini's La boheme.

Transportation
If you are worried about the drive down to Indianola, don't worry about that either. We got you covered! Our community partners have graciously covered transportation down to Indianola and back to Southridge Mall. The bus will go to Simpson's campus at 6:30 pm. Coming back, there will be two buses. One at 8:45 pm and one at 10:15 pm, depending on if you want to stay to watch the entire opera, or if you would like to leave at intermission. To reserve your seat on the shuttle, you must register above by clicking the red button above.
