Join Young Professionals Connection (YPC) and EMC Insurance as Jason Gross, Vice President of Innovation at EMC Insurance, shares tips/hacks for personal and professional development in order to climb the organizational ladder and advance your career. Jason will share lessons from his career in non-profit organizations, state government, and three multi-billion dollar organizations - what he calls his "Leadership ARMs (advice, rules, maxims)."
After the Lunch 'n Learn, EMC will be inviting us on a tour as we learn more about the insurance industry - ever wondered what is inside the EMC Insurance building downtown? Want to learn more about EMC's expansion downtown?
Jason W. Gross is the Vice President of Innovation at EMC Insurance in Des Moines, Iowa. In this role, Gross and his team lead EMC's internal innovation initiatives, collaboration with external startups and accelerators, and insurtech venture investments. Combined, Gross has over 15 years of leadership experience in insurance and financial services with roles in corporate strategy, IT and distribution, as well as 10+ years working in the political arena (state government, campaign management, nonprofit public policy). Gross is very active in the Des Moines community and on the state-level in leadership roles with the Global Insurance Accelerator (GIA), the Global Insurance Symposium (GIS), and the Iowa Association of Business and Industry. He also volunteers his time with organizations supporting the arts, homelessness, and developing leadership skills for the next generation of leaders.
EMC Insurance Companies is among the top 60 property and casualty insurance organizations in the country based on net written premium, with more than 2,400 employees. Employers Mutual Casualty Company (EMCC) was organized in 1911 to write workers' compensation protection in Iowa. Today, operating under the trade name EMC Insurance Companies, the company provides property and casualty insurance products and services throughout the United States and writes reinsurance contracts worldwide. EMCC is licensed in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
